Russian Diaspora Survey
Dear AmBARian,
We are writing to invite you to participate in the survey undertaken within the
international project that aimed to collect and understand views of people like
you technology professionals and entrepreneurs of Russian origin that largely
live and work abroad. This international project aims to reach out for the
members of Russian diaspora to assess their views on development perspectives of Russia in the technology field, understand the diaspora’s willingness to collaborate with Russia-based partners and conditions necessary for such collaboration to become productive.
The project is jointly sponsored by the World Bank Institute (Washington),
Moscow State University Science Park (Moscow) and the Higher School of Economics (Moscow). The project is a part of larger research program called Knowledge for Development. Other project countries are South Korea, India, Mexico, and Argentina. Additional information on the project could be found at the website www.worldbank.org/wbi/knowledgefordevelopment (see Special Initiatives: Diasporas).
he project has been developed to support Russia’s efforts to facilitate internationalization of Russian technology-based firms, the creation of new firms and the establishment of strategic partnerships between local and foreign firms. The Ministry also adopted a pilot program to support an expansion in collaboration between Russian research teams and scientists of Russian origin who live and work abroad. This project is supporting these Government initiatives.
